After hearing from several school principals about the issue, members of the Overton County Board of Education are taking steps to improve security in the schools with the addition of newer camera and recording technology. The board discussed the issue at a work session last week.
“When we initially bid out to try to update those systems, we didn’t get any bids,” said board chairman Mike Gilpatrick. “I think that was one of those things that was top on our list that the principals gave us.”
