Ronnie Bess, 51, passed away Nov. 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd officiating. The family has chosen cremation. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He was born Dec. 22, 1964 in Bedford County, Tenn. He worked as a residential painter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Eugene Bess and Wilma Jean Harrington. Surviving relatives include one son, Bryan Eugene Bess of Clarksville; two daughters, Christian Nicole Bess and Amber L. Stafford, both of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Emily Rose Bess, Natelie Marie Robinson, Christopher Divon Lowe, Myka Izaiah Stafford, and Adreana Mychelle Stafford; three brothers, David Bess of Clarksville, Danny Bess of Norfolk, Va., and Scotty Bess of Belleville, Ill.; one sister, Connie Jessup of Cookeville.

Betty Carol Neal Martin Hampton, 67, passed away Nov. 14 at her home. Funeral services were held Nov. 17 in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Eric Vickers and Joseph Neal officiating. Interment followed at Granville Cemetery. Presley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She was born Jan. 7, 1949 in Detroit, Mich. She was a licensed insurance agent with Swallows Newman Insurance. She was a Christian and a member of the Praise Cathedral Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Fuston and Bertie Carter Neal. Surviving relatives include her husband, James “Bubba” Hampton of Granville; son, Robert Wesley (Christina) Martin III of Cookeville; step sons, Leon (Freda) Hampton of Granville, Martin Hampton, James (Kelly) Hampton, and Ray (Billie) Hampton all of Nashville; step daughters, Kim (Brian) Hampton of Murfreesboro and Millicent (Robert) Hampton of Granville; brothers, Gerald (Darlene) Neal of Cookeville, Joe (Annettea) Neal of Granville; sisters, Judy (Frank) Hardegree of Granville and Paulette Newman of Nashville; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and another one due in the spring.
