Jean Thomas Brockett

Jean Thomas Brockett, 76, of the Russell Hill Community passed away Dec. 2 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 from the Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jack Honeycutt officiating. Interment followed in the Patterson Cemetery.

Jean Thomas Brockett was born Nov. 3, 1936 in Smith County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Willette Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Joanna Jenkins Thomas; husband Harry Brockett; and son Stephen Brockett.

Surviving relatives include her daughter and son-in-law Deborah Collins and husband Darrell of Moss; sons and daughter-in-law Jimmy Brockett of Red Boiling Springs, Jimmy Brockett of the Russell Hill Community and Harold Brockett and wife Sherry of the Russell Hill Community; sister Janet Morrow of Brush Creek; brother and sister-in-law Bill Thomas Jr. and wife Sarah of the Russell Hill Community; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearer was Jefferson Collins.

Pallbearers were Justin Brockett, Matthew Brockett, Kaleb Collins, Joseph LeMonds, Joshua Lineberry and Austin Thomas.

Zelma Morgan Gentry

Zelma Morgan Gentry, 86, of Red Boiling Springs passed away Dec. 2 at her residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 from the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.

Zelma Morgan Gentry was born Jan. 7, 1926 in Macon County. She was a homemaker and garment factory worker for the former Imperial Reading in Lafayette with 25 years of service and a member of the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Susie Hix Morgan; husband Donald Gentry; and brother Windel Morgan.

Surviving relatives include her son and daughter-in-law Danny Gentry and wife Rebecca of Red Boiling Springs; sister Dean Wright of Red Boiling Springs; brothers and sister-in-law Charles Morgan of Red Boiling Springs and Willard Morgan and wife ImoJean of the Leonard Community; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Russell, Bob Cowan, Josh Cowan, Chuck Jordan, David Burton and Kenneth Smith.

Debra Adams Dicken

Debra Adams Dicken, 35, of Lafayette and formerly of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Nov. 30 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Graveside services and interment were held from the Hinson Cemetery in Clay County with Bro. Tom Stokes officiating.

Debra Adams Dicken was born Dec. 4, 1976 in Barren County, KY. She was a home health assistant.

She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Adams, II.

Surviving relatives include her parents Shirley Crawford Copas of Tompkinsville, KY and Michael Adams of Indianapolis, IN; husband Andy Dicken of Tompkinsville, KY; daughters Loretta Copas of Tompkinsville, KY and Kaitlyn Dicken of Lafayette; son A.J. Dicken of Lafayette; step-daughter Brittany Dicken of Lafayette; step-son Josh Dicken of Fountain Run, KY; step-father Tommy Copas of Tompkinsville, KY; sister Melissa Bates of Lafayette; brother James Bates of Pendleton, IN; and step-granddaughter Adrianna Sanchez of Lafayette.

Pallbearers were her family and friends.

Robert “Teakettle” Smith

Robert “Teakettle” Smith, 77, of Celina passed away Nov. 29 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Dec. 2 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Reeder officiating. Interment followed in the Fellowship Cemetery.

Robert “Teakettle” Smith was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Clay County. He was employed at the Cumberland River Hospital and retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Cave Springs Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents Casto and Hattie Mae (Estep) Smith; and daughter Deborah Smith.

Surviving relatives include his wife Virginia Capps Smith; son Billy Smith and wife Cheryl of Celina; daughters Gwenith Rhoton and Roy Gore of Livingston, Shirley Rosine and Greg Partin of Kentucky; in-law Jerry Rhoton; brothers Gene Smith and wife June of Celina and Roland Smith and wife Margie of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren Amanda Geesling, Amy Rhoton, Mikie Kelly, Alicia Labreck, Jason Bilbrey, Carla Grace, Billy Junior Smith and Anthony Smith; and great grandchildren Dylan Geesling, Emily Geesling, Allie Clouse, Mason Clouse, Westyn Clouse, Landon Kelly, Jailee Kelly, Monty Labreck, Ethan Labreck, Tori Morgan, Alayna Bilbrey, Bryson Bilbrey, Selena Grace, Sabrina Grace, Natalie Smith and Isabella Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Junior Smith, Jason Bilbrey, Jim Hayes, Scott Geesling, Chris Rich, Steve Smith and Jeff Smith.

Pallbearers were Anthony Smith, Jerry Rhoton, Danny Smith, Johnny Smith, James Capps, Mitchell Capps and Matthew Stalker.

Wilbern T. Brown

Wilbern T. Brown, 95, of Celina passed away Nov. 30 at the Celina Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 from the Upton Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Threet officiating. Interment followed in the Doc Hall Cemetery.

Wilbern T. Brown was born March 2, 1917 in Clay County. He was a retired machine operator for Bridgeport Brass in Indianapolis, IN, a farmer and a member of the Baptist Ridge Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents Napoleon Francis and Livie Lee (Boles) Brown; wife Martha Elizabeth Pennington; son Dennis Brown; four brothers; five sisters; granddaughter Kimberly Schultz; and son-in-law Guy Lustig.

Surviving relatives include daughters Veneeta Davis and husband Bobby of Greenwood, IN and Virginia Lustig of Greenwood, IN; son Lester Brown of Covington, LA; brother Willard Brown of Cookeville; sisters Verda Miller of Rickman; Opal Grissom of Cookeville; grandchildren Gail Jones, Mark Davis, Tamara Davis, Mark Brown and Dennis Charlie Brown; 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Max Jones, Phil Davis, Nathanael Jones, Nicolas Jones, Bobby Davis and Les Brown.

Ruby Mae Burris

Ruby Mae Burris, 99, of Celina passed away Dec. 2 at the Celina Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 from the Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Hamilton Addition of the Fitzgerald Cemetery.

Ruby Mae Burris was born Dec. 15, 1912. She was a restaurant owner and operator in Celina.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Rilda (Carmack) Boles; son Raymond Benton; daughters Elise Motyka and Willie Lucille Trewela; brothers Clint and George Boles; and sister Annie Prichett.

Surviving relatives include sons and daughters-in-law Roy E. Burris and wife Faye of Murfreesboro and Clifton Burris and wife Frankie of Celina; daughters and sons-in-law Brenda Thompson and husband Buddy of Celina and Sandy Short and husband Dock of Celina; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Joan Smalling Knight

Joan Smalling Knight, 58, of Red Boiling Springs passed away Dec. 6 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 from the chapel of the Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Bro. Neel Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.

Joan Smalling Knight was born July 20, 1954 in Macon County. She was a former employee with Salga Plastics in Gallatin with 14 years of service and a member of the Red Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Betty Jane Crague Smalling; sister Kathy Kreutzer; and brothers Charles and Jimmy Smalling.

Surviving relatives include husband Larry Knight; daughters and son-in-law Julie Gentry and husband Nick of Red Boiling Springs and Latashia Price of Tompkinsville, KY; son and daughter-in-law Steven Smalling and wife Tabitha of Red Boiling Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law Ronald Smalling and wife Brandy of Indianapolis, IN, Danny Smalling and wife Sheryl of New Iberia, LA; granddaughters Macy Raines and Kinsley Smalling, and grandsons Comes Raines and Connor Curtis.
