Jeremiah Dewitt “J.D.” Maynard, 30, passed away Sept. 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Oct. 2 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Green and Rev. Tom Halliburton officiating. Interment followed in Okolona Cemetery in Rickman.
Jeremiah Dewitt “J.D.” Maynard was born Feb. 1, 1982, in Overton County. He was a student at Tennessee Tech University. He also served with the U.S. Air Force and served in Iraq.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry and Ina Mary Gunnels, and Yelton and Anna Dean Maynard.
Surviving relatives include his parents Gerald and Reba Maynard of Livingston; brother Jonathan Maynard of Pigeon Forge, TN; uncles and aunts Dennis and Jene Barsness of Livingston, James and JereKay Gunnels of Mt. Juliet, TN, David and Debbie Gunnels, Debbie Hicks, Karen McCowan and Helen Fossey, all of Livingston, and Ed and Becky Maynard of Cookeville; and a host of cousins and friends.
Cousins and friends served as pallbearers.
Stella Grace (Byrd) Garrett

Stella Grace (Byrd) Garrett, 82, of Monroe passed away Sept. 24 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. Funeral services were held Sept. 27 at Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Jeff Flowers officiating. Interment followed in the Little Cemetery.
Stella Grace (Byrd) Garrett was born April 12, 1930, in Pickett County. She was a school cook, factory worker and homemaker. She was also a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and lived all of her life in Pickett County.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Beldon Garrett; parents James Allen and Fannie Byrd; son Johnny Wayne Garrett; son-in-law John Cobble; sisters Ordean Wright, Della Lee, Velma Watts and Viola Byrd; and brothers William and James Byrd.
Surviving relatives include her daughters Dimple Geesling and husband Larry of Hilham, Darlene Cobble and friend Gary Nicholas of Monroe and Elaine Winningham of Monroe; sisters Wanda Lee of Monroe and Louise Masiongale of New Carlisle, OH; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Lee, James Smith, Lonnie Garrett, Darrell Garrett, Jerry Paul Flowers, Johnny Byrd and Brandon Geesling.
Peggy J. Abston
Peggy J. Abston, 66, of Crawford passed away Oct. 1 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Oct. 4 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Arnold Murphy officiating. Interment followed in the Honey Springs Cemetery.
Peggy J. Abston was born Feb. 8, 1946, in Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arlie and Jeanette Landers Hodge; brother Michael Hodge; and sister-in-law Barbara Hodge.
Surviving relatives include her husband Ronnie Abston of Crawford; son Tony Hite of Livingston; daughters Ginger Abston and husband Adam of Livingston, April Bilbrey and Shawn Hammock of Twinton, TN, Misty Ryan and husband Andy of Crawford and Janet Hahn and husband Terry of Twinton, TN; brother David Hodge of Livingston; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Josephine Kingrey, 75, of Livingston passed away Sept. 29 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Oct. 3 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Cobb officiating. Interment followed in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Josephine Kingrey was born May 15, 1937, in Bellefantaine, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Mabel Harris Cook.
Surviving relatives include her sons Wyatt Kingrey and wife Barb, and Steve Kingrey; daughter, Melissa Kingrey; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers were Ricky Boyles, Lee Flatt, Tevin Hayes, Chris Breeding, Patrick Huddleston, Kevin Johnson, Zach Kingrey, Cody Kingrey and Brady Kingrey.
Lila Jean Robison
Lila Jean Robison, 78, of Livingston passed away Sept. 30 at her home. Funeral services were held Oct. 3 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Ledbetter officiating. Interment followed in the Richardson Cemetery.
Lila Jean Robison was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Allons.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chatt and Louella Booher Chilton.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Jennifer Cooper and husband Gary of Huntsville; son Thomas Robison and wife Tonya of Lake Jackson, TX; sisters Clara and Ruth Chilton, both of Allons; brother Joe Chilton and wife Kathi of Allons; grandchildren Emily Robison of Lake Jackson, TX, Shay Cooper and Seth Cooper, both of Huntsville, TX; long time friend and companion Roy Cantrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers were W.J. Staggs, Odell Cantrell, Michael Chilton, Seeth Cooper, Shay Cooper and Gary Cooper.
Sylvia Gail Henderson
Sylvia Gail Henderson, 75, of Cookeville passed away Oct. 1 at her home. Funeral services were held Oct. 6 from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Bill Sowder and Bro. Edward Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.
Sylvia Gail Henderson was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Algood. Her interests and hobbies included sewing, needlework, quilting, stained glass, various types of crafting, decorating and golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Algood and D.M. Kuykendall.
Surviving relatives include her husband James M. “Matt” Henderson of Cookeville; daughters Pamela Walker and husband Stephen of Lutz, FL, and Sara Smith and husband Edward of Paris, TN; sister Joyce Drake and husband Walter of Cookeville; brother Alfred Kuykendall and wife Carol of Medina, TN; grandchildren Andrew and Joel Walker, Philip, Abigail, Hannah and Paige Smith; and great grandchild Reed Andrew Walker.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
