Grant Norrod Family Reunion Set For July 5
The Grant Norrod family reunion will be held beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 5 at the Tennessee Technological Center at Livingston.

Overton County Commission To Meet
The Overton County Commission will meet in regular session on Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at the Overton County Courthouse.

Decoration/Homecoming To Be Held At Mt. Gilead Cemetery
A decoration/homecoming will be held at Mt. Gilead Cemetery off of Campground Road on Sunday, July 13, always the second Sunday in July. Donations are needed for the upkeep of the cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation to the cemetery fund may do so by visiting Union Bank & Trust in Livingston, or call (931) 823-1639 for more information.

Overton County Fair Board To Meet July 7
The Overton County Fair Board will hold its regular monthly meeting beginning at Monday, July 7 at the Overton County Fairgrounds. Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a picnic for volunteers and workers with the Board meeting set to follow. In addition, final registration for the Overton County Beauty Pageants will be from 5 p.m. –6:30 p.m. at the Fair Office. The winner of the Fairest of the Fair will receive a trophy, crown, paid trip to compete in the state Fairest of the Fair Contest, a $1,000 scholarship, $285 White and Brite service and a Merle Norman gift certificate.

Rock The Dock Set For July 3
The fifth annual Rock the Dock Independence Day celebration will be held Thursday, July 3 at Mitchell Creek. In addition to fireworks, the event will also feature a volleyball tournament, cornhole, live music and other activities. For more information, visit www.mitchell creekmarina.com

Shake The Lake Fireworks Show Set
Willow Grove Resort and Marina will once again offer Shake The Lake Fireworks show on Independence Day - July 4. The fireworks are set to start at dusk.

City Garbage Routes To Change For Independence Day
Garbage routes in the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the city to observe Independence Day. Trash will not be picked up Friday, July 4. Friday’s trash route will be picked up on Thursday, July 3 along with Thursday’s usual route.

Garrett/Cravens Family Reunion To Be Held
A reunion for the Garrett and Cravens family will be held Sunday, July 6 at Standing Stone State Park, shelter number 5, below the dam. Lunch will begin around 12:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to bring food and drinks.

County Convenience Centers To Close For Independence Day
Overton County Recycling Center and all convenience centers will be closed Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Convenience centers will re-open Saturday as normal.

Foster Parents Needed In Area
Have you ever considered becoming a foster parent? Camelot in Cookeville is offering free classes starting this month. American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary To Meet
The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, July 1 at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. After a brief tour of the building, the Auxiliary will meet at Stover’s at 5:30 p.m. The Legion will meet at 6 p.m. at Stover’s.

Barnes/Edmonds Reunion To Be Held
A reunion for Barnes and Edmonds families will be held Saturday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Standing Stone State Park, number three covered table, below the swimming area. Lunch will be served. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

A decoration will be held at Oakley Cemetery Sunday, July 6 starting at 10 a.m.
