Fish Fry
The Dodson Branch Community monthly fish fry (bake or fried) will be held on June 7 at 5 p.m.  There will also be a cakewalk.  Please come and enjoy the meal and good fellowship.

American Legion
The American Legion Post 129 meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion office in the Memorial building in Gainesboro. Further info, call 931-445-4133.

Adult Education
The Jackson County Adult Education Classes are held Wed. and Thurs. 8:30 a.m.  till 11:30 a.m. at 238 A North Grundy Quarles Highway.  Call 931-268-9840 or 931-879-3802 for additional information.  If you did not finish high school this is your chance.  Enroll today!

Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers will be held at the Gainesboro Church of Christ every Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

There will be a decoration at Richmond Cemetery on June 8 at 2 p.m. May come earlier and bring a pot luck dish for lunch.

Diabetes Class
A free six week program to help manage diabetes will be held at the Jackson County Health Dept. from June 10-July 15 from 2-4 p.m. For more information or to register for the class, call the Health Dept. at 931-268-0218.

Health Council
There will be a meeting of the Jackson County Health Council on June 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ag Center/UT Extension office conference room.

WIC Celebration
The Jackson County Health Dept. is hosting a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Celebration June 13 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Health Dept. Sample foods available with WIC vouchers; take home a variety of free baby supplies and a 4x6 photograph of Mom with her children. Summer Reading Program
The Charles Ralph Holland Memorial Library will begin their summer reading program on June 5 at 11 a.m. and will continue every Thursday throughout the month of June. For more information, call the Library at 931-268-9190.

Football Camp
Kids Blue Devil Football Camp will be June 9-12 8-11 am. No contact. Every camper receives a camp t-shirt. Registration started Monday, June 2 at 7:30 am. Camp is at Jackson County High School.

Kids Fishing Rodeo
The Seventeenth Annual Kids’ Fishing Rodeo will be held at Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery in Celina, Tennessee, in Celebration of National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW).  The Rodeo will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to noon. The event is a cooperative effort between the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Friends of Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery, US Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) and citizens of Clay County. This free event is open to youth under the age of 15.  For more information call the hatchery at 931-243-2443 or Corps of Engineers Resource Office at 931-243-3136. The Rodeo will take place at the creek below the hatchery.  Participants may park at the hatchery and walk along the hatchery fence to the creek. Participants should bring fishing poles, hooks, and any bait with which to fish. Participants will receive educational packages.  Those that register will be eligible for prizes. This event is one of more than 2,500 events that are being held across the nation in celebration of National Fishing and Boating Week. National Fishing Week is a program administered by the Recreation Boating and Fishing Foundation. This year’s theme is “Take Me Fishing.” As part of National Fishing Week, 46 states have adopted free fishing days, when fishing license requirements are waived to encourage fishing participation.
