Fairest Of The Fair Pageant
The 2014 Fairest of the Fair Pageant will be held June 7 at 3 p.m. in the Women’s Building at the fairgrounds. Pre-registration and rehearsal will be on June 6 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Women’s Building. For information contact Dorothy Burchett-Forney at 243-3564 or Lois Turner at 243-5474.

Clay County Fair
The 2014 Clay County Fair will be held from June 10-14. Events will include wrestling, 4-H exhibits, bullwhip rodeo, motorcycle and ATV rodeo, quarterhorse show, tractor pull and more.

The Clay County Health Council meeting will be held the second Monday of the month (June 9) at noon. The meeting will be held at the Clay County School Board Central Office.

The Celina City Council meeting will be held the second Tuesday of the month. (June 10) at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at City Hall.

The Celina Clay County Joint Economic Development Board will meet the first Thursday of the month (June 5) at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at City Hall.

Poker Run
There will be a Dale Hollow Poker Run event running through June 8. For more information www.dalehollowlakeonline.com.

Civil War Living History Camp and Wedding:
The 9th KY US Infantry (reenacting unit) returns to the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site June 14-15. Visitors to the park may visit their working Civil War camp beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Unit drills, discussions of weapons and other related activities are planned throughout the event. Descendnts of the original Ninth KY are encouraged to attend. The highlight of this year’s event will be the period accurate, real wedding of two members of the unit on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. The wedding and reception is open to the public for educational purposes. (Period attire is not required to attend. However, period clad individuals will be seated first). On Sunday the unit will deliver a three round volley at the Tompkinsville National Cemetery (a.k.a. Benefit For Cherry
There will be a benefit for Neva Cherry’s medical bills. It will be held on June 6 beginning at 5 p.m. The benefit will be held at the Hermitage Springs School. Any questions call 239-8378 or 258-4460.

Trophy Night
There will be a “Trophy Night” for the Little League on June 6. Also, youth games will be played at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the ball field near the fairgrounds. There are still a few team spots available to play in the June 6-8 Bobby Nichols Scramble, the major fundraising event for Tennessee Tech Athletics. If you’re interested in playing, please don’t hesitate. Call the athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center (931) 372-3940 and reserve your team spot before the field fills up. Participants receive three rounds of tourney golf, three practice rounds, carts, gift bag, the Friday night concert and party, the Saturday night BBQ dinner, and the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes. If you want to learn more about the tournament or to enter the field, please call as soon as possible...or risk missing your chance to play.

Spring Celebrated
Kicks Country celebrates spring in Clay County. All the people, places and things that make Celina and Clay County a special place to live and work, will be on display. 106.9 Kicks Country salutes the community. The 106.9 Kicks Country team, including afternoon personality Paul Stone, will be on the courthouse square Thursday, June 5 from 2 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. broadcasting live.

Benefit For Cemeteries
There will be a benefit for the Rock Springs and Williams Cemeteries at the Pea Ridge Fire Hall. The benefit will be on Saturday, June 7, at 6 p.m.
