UCHRA Set To Distribute Commodities Dec. 17
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Overton County today, Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Livingston Church of Christ, 215 E. Main St., Livingston. Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, color, national origin, religion, or disability in admission to, access to, or operations of its programs, services or activities.
Sheriff’s Department To Hold Roadblocks
The Overton County Sheriff’s Department will hold a series of checkpoints to be conducted Dec. 27 and Dec. 31 throughout the county. The checkpoints are an effort to stop drunk driving and promote safety. The Sheriff’s Department asks that if you choose to drink, always get a sober, designated driver and buckle up.
City Garbage Routes To Change In Observance Of Holidays
Garbage routes in the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the city to observe Christmas. Trash will not be picked up Dec. 24 – 26. Tuesday’s trash route will be picked up Monday, Dec. 23 along with Monday’s usual route. Wednesday and Thursday’s route will be picked up Friday, Dec. 27 along with Friday’s usual route.
CASA Training Workshops Scheduled For January
Every child has the right to be treated with dignity, be safe and thrive in a loving family. Court Appoint Special Advocate (C.A.S.A.) volunteers work to ensure that the rights of abused and neglected children are being protected. Training for CASA advocates in this area is scheduled for January. “In God We Trust” Fund Established
An “In God We Trust” fund has been set up in order to install “In God We Trust” on the courthouse in Livingston. If you would like to support this project, please bring donations to Union Bank & Trust in Livingston or Rickman and ask the funds be placed in the “In God We Trust” fund. For more information, call Jim Clark at 931-510-1544 or W.B. Melton at 931-823-6662. Letters on the courthouse will be made from aluminum and will be 12” tall and a gold/bronze color.
Adult Relative Support Meetings, Assistance Now Being Offered
Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? Adult relative support group meetings are held every third Tuesday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., at First Christian Church, 320 Oakley Street, Livingston. For housing assistance while caring for a related child, contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.
Narcotics Anonymous Meetings Scheduled
Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church on Main St., Livingston. Everyone is welcome.
