Annual Elves’ Holiday Bazaar Set

The seventh annual Elves’ Holiday Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Livingston Rotary Ag Complex.

Story Time Set

On Thursday, Dec. 5 the Millard Oakley Public Library will have preschool story time at 10:15 a.m.

Elvis To Appear At Millard Oakley Library

Elvis is scheduled to appear at the Millard Oakley Library at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6.

Play Scheduled

The Good Neighbors Theater in Byrdstown will be playing “The Rented Christmas” by Norman C. Ahern, Jr. and Yvonne Ahern.

Tickets are available at the Pickett County Chamber of Commerce. Show times are Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 at  2 p.m.

Chamber Business After Hours Set For Dec. 5

The annual awards along with the legacy awards and other community awards will be presented Thursday, Dec. 5 at the East Main Branch of First National Bank of Tennessee from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

VFW Coffee With A Veteran Set

The Livingston VFW Post 5062 is hosting “Have Coffee with a Veteran” Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the VFW Post building. Anyone who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces are welcome to attend and have coffee, conversation and enjoy comradeship of veterans.

You do not have to be a veteran to attend. If you have any questions contact Post Quartermaster Ron Goode at 931-403-4003.

“In God We Trust” Fund Established

An “In God We Trust” fund has been set up in order to install “In God We Trust” on the courthouse in Livingston.

If you would like to support this project, please bring donations to Union Bank & Trust in Livingston or Rickman and ask the funds be placed in the “In God We Trust” fund. For more information, call Jim Clark at 931-510-1544 or W.B. Melton at 931-823-6662.

The letters on the courthouse will be made from aluminum and will be 12” tall and a gold/bronze color.

Adult Relative Support Meetings Offered

Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance?

Adult relative support group meetings are held every third Tuesday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., at the First Christian Church at 320 Oakley Street, Livingston, TN.

Narcotics Anonymous Slated To Meet

Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church on Main St., Livingston. Everyone is welcome.

Christmas Dinner To Benefit Brown's Chapel Community Center

A Christmas dinner benefiting Brown's Chapel Community Center will be held from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Dec. 8. All proceeds go to the  center. For more information, call 823-4497.

Board Of Education To Meet Dec. 10

The Overton County Board of Education will meet in regular session Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Central Education Office as directed by Mike Hayes, chairman.

The board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with the Work Session immediately following.

UCHRA Commodities Distribution Planned

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Overton County on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hanging Limb Community Center, Hanging Limb. 

Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities.
