“In God We Trust” Fund Established
An “In God We Trust” fund has been set up in order to install “In God We Trust” on the courthouse in Livingston. If you would like to support this project, please bring donations to Union Bank & Trust in Livingston or Rickman and ask the funds be placed in the “In God We Trust” fund. For more information, call Jim Clark at 931-510-1544 or W.B. Melton at 931-823-6662.
Letters on courthouse will be made from aluminum and will be 12” tall and a gold/bronze color.

Adult Relative Support Meetings Offered
Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll free at 1-877-275-8233.
Adult relative support group meetings are held every third Tuesday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., at the First Christian Church at 320 Oakley Street, Livingston. For housing assistance while caring for relative child, contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.

Free Medicare Part D Help
SHIP Representatives from the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability will be at the Millard Oakley Library in Livingston from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 to help counsel on Medicare Part D plans, as well as Medicare Advantage Plans for 2014. Call SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 for an appointment. The annual enrollment period for 2014 is from Oct. 15 until Dec. 7.

Christmas In The Country Slated
Christmas In The Country has been scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29 on the Square in Livingston.

Santa To Appear At Library
Santa is scheduled to appear at the Millard Oakley Public Library from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6.

Commodities Distribution Set
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Overton County on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hanging Limb Community Center. Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. 

Centers To Close For Thanksgiving
All Overton County Convenience Centers will be closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Teen Advisory Board To Meet
The Millard Oakley Library Teen Advisory Board will meet from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2 at the Library.

Elvis To Appear At Millard Oakley Library
Elvis is scheduled to appear at the Millard Oakley Library at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6.

Narcotics Anonymous To Meet
Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on Main St., Livingston. Everyone is welcome.

City Garbage Routes To Change In Observance Of Holiday
Garbage routes in the town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the city to observe Thanksgiving. Trash will not be picked up on Nov. 28 or Nov. 29. Thursday’s trash route will be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 27 along with Wednesday’s usual route. Friday’s route will be picked up on Monday, Dec. 2 along with Monday’s usual route.

Blood Drive
American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 1-5 p.m. in the conference room of the Overton County Chamber of Commerce. You can schedule your appointment today, use the code Livingston19 to schedule your appointment online at redcrossblood.org.

Tour Of Homes Scheduled
Livingston Exchange Club will host their tour of homes on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 1-5 p.m. For more information contact Thelma Smith at (931) 823-7711.

Reindeer Stampede 5K To Be Held
The UCRRC is hosting a Reindeer Stampede 5K on Friday, Dec. 6. The race will start and finish on the square at 7 p.m. Shirts are guaranteed only for applications received by Nov. 30. Applications can be sent to 811 Peach Drive, Livingston, TN 38570 or you can register online at onestopprace.com.
