“In God We Trust” Fund Established
An “In God We Trust” fund has been set up in order to install “In God We Trust” on the Courthouse in Livingston. If you would like to support this project, please bring donations to Union Bank & Trust in Livingston or Rickman and ask the funds be placed in the “In God We Trust” fund. For more information, call Jim Clark at 931-510-1544 or W.B. Melton at 931-823-6662. The letters on the courthouse will be made from aluminum and will be 12” tall and a gold/bronze color.

Adult Relative Support Meetings Now Offered
Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll free at 1-877-275-8233. Adult relative support group meetings are held every third Tuesday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., at the First Christian Church at 320 Oakley Street, Livingston, TN. For housing assistance while caring for relative child, contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.

Free Medicare Part D Help To Be Offered Nov. 25
SHIP Representatives from the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability will be at the Millard Oakley Library in Livingston from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 to help counsel on Medicare Part D plans, as well as Medicare Advantage Plans for 2014. Call SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 for an appointment. The annual enrollment period for 2014 is from Oct. 15 until Dec. 7.

Thanksgiving Dinner To Be Held Nov. 23

Community Invited To Mix It Up At Lunch at TTU
A Holocaust survivor will speak at Tennessee Tech University’s Mix It Up At Lunch to encourage diversity and understanding between cultures. The event will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 21 in the second-floor multipurpose room in the Roaden University Center, 1000 N. Dixie Ave., Cookeville.

LA Volleyball And Tennis Teams Selling Smoked Turkey Breast

Christmas In The Country has been scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29 on the Square in Livingston.

Commodities Distribution Set For Dec. 3
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Overton County on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Hanging Limb Community Center, Hanging Limb. Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. 

Overton Beekeepers Plan To Meet Nov. 21
Overton County Beekeepers will meet on Nov. 21 at the Millard Oakley Library, starting at 6:30 p.m.  The agenda includes election of officers as well as extraction of honey demonstration.  All interested persons are welcome to attend.

County Convenience Centers To Close
All Overton County Convenience Centers will be closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
