Head Start Centers To Close For Holidays
The L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation Head Start Central Office and Head Start Centers will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day. It will also be closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Free Medicare Part D Help Offered
SHIP Representatives from the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability will be at the Millard Oakley Library in Livingston from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 to help counsel on Me
dicare Part D plans, as well as Medicare Advantage Plans for 2014. Call SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 for an appointment. The annual enrollment period for 2014 is from Oct. 15 until Dec. 7.

Millard Oakley Library Story Time Set
The Millard Oakley Public Library will hold a story-time for preschoolers at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 and again on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Overton County Friends of the Library will meet at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 14 at the Millard Oakley Public Library.

Convenience Centers To Close For Veteran’s Day
All Overton County Convenience Centers will close Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Veterans Day Ceremony To Be Held
On Monday, Nov. 11 VFW Post 5062 of Livingston will host the Veteran’s Day ceremony on the courthouse square in Livingston. The event commemorates and pays tribute to those men and women who have served or are now serving our country in defense of freedom. This annual celebration in honor of our Overton County veterans begins at 10 a.m.
Refreshments and a snack will follow the ceremony at the V.F.W. Post Building on Henson St., one block from the square.

Bean Supper To Be Held
A bean supper will be held beginning at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 at Independence Community Center.

City Garbage Schedule To Change
Garbage routes in the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the city to observe Veteran’s Day.
Trash will not be picked up on Monday, Nov. 11. Monday’s trash route will be picked up on Tuesday, Nov. 12, along with Tuesday’s usual route.

Farmer’s Market Now Available For Rent
The Farmer’s Market will be available to rent from now until April 30. Call City Hall at 823-1269 for more information.

One More Opportunity To Pass GED Test
If you have not passed all parts of the GED test, this message is for you.
You will have only one more opportunity to pass the GED test. Beginning in January, 2014 you will have to re-take all parts over and lose the parts that you have passed.
