Jimmy Smith, 76, of Red Boiling Springs passed away Aug. 29 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral services were held Sept. 1 from Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Red Boiling Springs with Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment followed in Bethany Cemetery.
Jimmy Smith was born March 4, 1937 in Macon County. He was a sawmill worker and a United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lottie Hale Smith; and brothers Donald Smith, Randal Smith and Prendle Smith.
Surviving relatives include sister and brother-in-law Naomi Chaffin and husband James of Lafayette; brothers and sisters-in-law Elder Jerry Smith and wife Mary D. of Lafayette, Harry Smith and wife Kathy of Lafayette, Larry Smith and wife Elizabeth of Red Boiling Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Roy Smith, Stevie Smith, Joey Pruitt, Josh Trent, Darrell Chaffin, Zachary Carlisle and Austin Smith.
Joe Therman Lynn
Joe Therman Lynn, 74, of Hermitage Springs passed away Aug. 26 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage. Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in Pedigo Cemetery.
Joe Therman Lynn was born Dec. 28, 1938 in Clay County. He was retired from United Technologies as a factory worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Malcolm Lynn and Mary Elizabeth (Pennington) Mabry; and sister Elaine Lynn.
Surviving relatives include wife Mary Nell Lynn of Hermitage Springs; son Jack Lynn of Morgantown, Ind.; daughter Sandy Lynn of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother Robert Lynn of Celina; sisters Hilda Sue Willis of Cookeville, Anna Gaulden of Indianapolis, Ind., Delores Netherton of Celina; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were George Gentry, Kevin Waite, Ryan Waite, Mark Downing, Tommy Dean Carlisle and Benny Neal Carlisle.
Dennis “Droop” Stafford
Dennis “Droop” Stafford, 62, of Red Boiling Springs passed away on Sept. 3 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Graveside services were held Sept. 6 at Whitley Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs with E.C. Meadows officiating.
Dennis “Droop” Stafford was born Jan. 5, 1951 in Jackson County. He was a self-employed small engines mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethel Pauline Atkins Stafford; and brothers Wayne Stafford, Earl Stafford, Scotty Stafford and Tony Stafford.
Surviving relatives include daughters Rochelle Stafford and Kristie Tapia of Detroit, Mich., Jeanette Stafford of Benzonia, Mich., Joan Stafford of Dearborn, Mich.; sister Sherry Jenkins of Red Boiling Springs; and brother Ricky Stafford of North Springs Community.
Pallbearers were his family and friends.

James Edgar Sherrell
James Edgar Sherrell, 81, of Nashville and formerly of Clay County passed away Sept. 2 at Alive Hospice of Skyline in Madison. Funeral services held Sept. 5 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Celina with Rev. Edgar Masencup officiating. Interment followed in Emerton Cemetery.
James Edgar Sherrell was born Jan. 20, 1932 in the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay Co. He was a tractor trailer mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Willie D. (Emerton) Sherrell.
Surviving relatives include wife Loanna (Brown) Sherrell; daughters and sons-in-law Jeraldine Ellis and husband Joe, Jeanette Riggle and husband Keith, Cathy Masencup and husband David; grandchildren Jeannie Williams, Glenda Terry, Lindsey Brown, Brandon Riggle, Shelby Masencup, Emily Masencup, Tiffani Masencup; sister Rose Hilton; and a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Westmoreland, John Terry, Keith Riggle, Brandon Riggle, Bradlee Brown and Castin Lanham.
