Animal Awareness Association Meeting
The Animal Awareness Association of Overton County will hold a meeting at 5 p.m., March 14 at the Law Offices of Kelly Williams, 306 West Broad St., Livingston.
UCHRA Commodities Distribution
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a Special Commodities Distribution for Overton County on March 13 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 708 E. Main St., Livingston. UCHRA will be distributing 5-pound bags of whole fresh potatoes.
Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, color, national origin, religion, or disability in admission to, access to, or operations of its programs, services or activities.
Driver’s License And Sobriety Checkpoints Slated
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a driver’s license roadside checkpoint on March 15 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 293 and 42.
THP will also conduct a sobriety checkpoint (in conjunction with the Overton County Sheriff’s Department and Livingston Police Department) on March 15 from 9:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Highway 52 West at Livingston city limits.
Benefit Golf Tournament
Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland will hold a benefit golf tournament starting at 8 a.m., April 6 at Southern Hills Golf and Country Club. The registration deadline is March 22. For more information, visit www.teenchallengeuc.org or call 1-888-688-0470.
Seniors Program
L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program was recently one of 205 organizations to receive a new grant for their program through the competition process. This program serves Cumberland, Overton, Pickett, Putnam and White Counties.
