Evelyn Pennington Boles, 74, of Celina passed away Dec. 31 in Celina. Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at the Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the McDonald Cemetery.
Evelyn Pennington Boles was born Jan. 15, 1939. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Bessie (Lynn) Pennington; children Aaron Glen and Cleveland Cunningham and Brenda Pennington; brothers Joe Bob, Baylus and Aaron Pennington; and sisters Bertha McBride and Frances Langford.
Surviving relatives include her husband Robert Lee Boles of Hilham; sons James Cunningham and wife Glenda Ritter of Celina and Eddie Cunningham of Hilham; stepson Robert Allen Boles of Celina; daughter Carol Lacy and husband Larry of Celina; sisters Alpha Hall and Altie Southerland of Hilham, Helen Westmoreland of Celina, Evan Nell Turner of Cookeville and Janie Suite of Indianapolis, IN; half brother Joe Roberts and wife Sharon of Pulaski; grandchildren Vester Michael Lacy, James Terry Johnson, Elijah Pennington, Evelyn Kay Cunningham, Amy Johnson, Chassity Daniels and Brian Ritter; step-grandsons Braxton and A.J. Boles; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Elise White Poindexter, 85, of Celina passed away Dec. 30 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 3 at the Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Tinsley Cemetery.
Elise White Poindexter was born March 25, 1927. She was a beautician in Celina for many years and a member of the Cave Springs Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents Palmer Lee and Mary Bell (Cox) White; husband Kenneth Bethel Poindexter; and brothers George and Jessie White.
Surviving relatives include sons and daughters-in-law Ricky Poindexter and wife Marilou of Celina, Jerry Poindexter and wife Janet of Celina, Ronnie Poindexter and wife Kathy of Celina and Wanda Meadows of Celina; sisters Etta Fairchild and Shirley Huddleston of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Kenny Meadows, Angela Reed, Lisa Fleming, Laura Miles, Mark Poindexter, Matthew Poindexter and Julie Brehime; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Westmoreland, Derrick Anderson, Matthew Poindexter, Mark Poindexter, Jack Tinsley, Kenny Meadows, Rob Edwards and Larry Scott.

J.C. Watson, 81, of Burkesville, KY passed away Dec. 25 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville. Funeral services were held Dec. 28 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Kerr and Bro. Ken Miller officiating. Interment followed in the Williams Cemetery in Clay County.
J. C. Watson was born June 22, 1931 in the Ashlock Community of Cumberland County, KY. He was a member of Rock Springs Church of Christ, worked for General Motors and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bertie and Avo Short Watson; and sisters Saraphine and Sarah Watson.
Surviving relatives include his wife Grace Webb Watson of Burkesville, KY; children Danny Allen Watson and wife Kendra of Burkesville and Susan C. Cross and husband Richard of Albany, KY; grandchildren Taylor Danielle Watson, Hailey Jo Watson and Bryson Richard Cross.
Pallbearers were Clyde Kerr, Jim Clark, Ricky Dunn, Jerry Watson, Jesse Webb and Cecil Hogan.
Honorary pallbearers were Duane Williams, Dr. Samuel Rice, William Gray, Lewis Scott and Billy Faye Gray.

Betty Ann Cunningham, 85, of the Boma Community, passed away Jan. 6 at her home. Funeral services were held Jan. 8 from Boma First Church of God with Rev. Tim Sharp and Rev. Rex Boles officiating. Private family graveside services were also held on Jan. 9 at Smellege Memory Gardens with Rev. Fred Hawkins and Rev. Archie Whitefield officiating.
Betty Ann Cunningham was born Aug. 30, 1927 in Ashland, KY. She was a Pearl of a Lady, a gifted 15-month-old baby, who was chosen through adoption by Jack and Lula Terrell and went on to make an impact on the world.
Betty Ann Cunningham was gifted in art, voice and music, by age 5, was playing piano in church and used the gift of art and music throughout her life from local and state to national levels from spiritual to school, community and civic events.
She graduated and received an art scholarship from Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, OH. She worked at a Dayton, OH newspaper, Wilbur Wright Aerial Institute, Georgia Shoe Co., Elmores Grocery, Dr. Hartman, a chiropractic physician, Putnam County education and in sales and public relations for JCPenney for 14 years.
She served the Christian Women Connection, an International Women’s Mission Organization in local, state and national levels. She was a trailblazer to help start up units in much of Tennessee and Kentucky. Recently she received a one time award “Oak Leaf Award” in her service to the Christian Women Connection.
She served in many ministries from youth, women’s organization and admininstration. She and her husband together conducted over 1,000 weddings, funerals and over 1,000 combined state meetings, revivals, conventions and seminars in 13 states. They served as Senior Pastors for the Boma First Church of God for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lula Bryant Terrell; and husband Rev. Clyde E. Cunningham.
Surviving relatives include daughters and sons-in-law Jo Frazier and husband Ed of Cookeville, Jeanie Lee and husband Winnell A. “Tony” of Baxter, Sherry Jones and Gayle Cunningham of Baxter; son Clyde Cunnningham Jr. and companion Edith Ealey of Baxter; grandchildren Beth Ann Kelley, Shea Lee, Jason Lee, Sean Harley, DeCher Harley, Angela Eads, Shane Watson and Leslie Anderson and great-grandchildren Parker Kelley, Paisley Kelley, Jay Lee, Logan Lee, Elliot Lee, Audrey Lee, Austin Harley, Jacob Harley, Annagayle Harley, Alainey Watson and Macy Watson.
Pallbearers were Sean Harley, Austin Harley, Jacob Harley, Shea Lee, Jason Lee, Jay Lee, Logan Lee, Shane Watson, Shane Kelley, Joey Eads and Bruce Hoese.

Jesse Lynn Watson, 26, of LaGrange, GA and formerly of Red Boiling Springs passed away Dec. 23 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 from the chapel of the Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Bro. Steve White officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Cemetery.
Jesse Lynn Watson was born July 19, 1986 in Smith County. He was employed with Sewon of America Mfg. in LaGrange, GA.
Surviving relatives include his parents James Watson of Franklin, GA and Kay Wilder of Lafayette; daughter Alexis Watson; son Dameon Watson both of Red Boiling Springs; Kay Wilder’s companion Joe Harrison of Lafayette; stepmother LaDonna Watson of Franklin, GA; brothers and sister-in-law Jimmy Watson and wife Chelsea of Lafayette and Jarred Watson of Franklin, GA; sisters and brother-in-law LaTasha Rich and husband Jeff of Murfreesboro, Codie Simmons of Murfreesboro, Jordan Watson of Franklin, GA and Page Harrson of Lafayette.
