Connie Sue Locke, 57, passed away Dec. 19 at her residence in Gainesboro. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Pharris Cemetery.

Connie Sue Locke was born April 9, 1955 in Clay County. She was a factory worker in the garment industry and member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Locke; her parents Benton Edward Tinsley and Mary Dailey Tinsley; son Jackie Dale Locke Jr. and sister Fannie Louise Tinsley.

Surviving relatives include daughter Jackie Sizemore; grandchildren Matthew Blake Sizemore, Kristen Nicole Sizemore and Destiny Grace Sizemore; brother Jimmy Edward and wife Kathy Tinsley; five sisters Janice Elise (Landon) Locke, Maymie and husband Joel Hunter, Bonnie Locke, Betty and husband Jim Sizemore and Sharon Stafford; brother-in-law David Locke and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Edgar Jackson

Edgar Jackson, 94, passed away Dec. 16, 2012 at The Bickford of Oswego. Funeral services were held Dec. 19 at Friedrich-Jones’ Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Naperville, IL with Rev. David Hankus officiating. Interment followed at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Edgar Jackson was born May 20, 1918 in Old Hickory. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and later served in the Air Force Reserves, retiring in May 1978 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also worked as an accountant at United Airlines for many years. He was a former member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and a current member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. He was a member of the Retired Officer’s Association (TROA) and a Civil Defense volunteer. He also enjoyed ham radio.

He was the loving husband of Ruth Bannister Jackson; loving father of Patricia and husband Dennis Quinn-Buchta and Frank and wife Patricia Jackson; adored grandfather of Daniel and wife Kathleen Quinn and Laura and husband Danny Stevens; cherished great grandfather of Samantha Stevens, Liam and Cameron Quinn; devoted son of the late Perry and Edna Jackson; dear brother of Grace Jackson and the late Perry, Charles, Russell and Clyde; brother-in-law of James D. (Christine) Bannister and the late Elaine Ferry and George F. Bannister and a fond uncle of many.

Alice Beechboard Hawkins, 74, passed away Dec. 20 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Douglas Hawkins and Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Maxwell Chapel Cemetery.

Alice Beechboard Hawkins was born June 2, 1938 in Wilson County. She was a factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Malcolm Spivey and Nannie B. Spivey; her first husband Elzo Beechboard; granddaughter Natalie Strong; brothers Billy, Dale, George and James Spivey and sister Martha Spivey.

Surviving relatives include husband Douglas Hawkins of Hilham; sons Billy Beechboard and Wayne Beechboard of Gainesboro; daughters Wanda and husband Carl Lowe of Livingston, Sue Strong and Jackie Beechboard, both of Gainesboro; stepchildren Doug Hawkins Jr., Jackie Hill and Jennifer Brown; grandchildren Alison Loftis, Brock Strong and Olivia Strong; brothers Jerry and wife Sue Spivey of Rock Island and Robert Spivey of Gainesboro; sisters Thelma Siboloski of Imlay City, MI, Edna and husband Joe Scantland of Gainesboro, Dorothy and husband Gary Kemp of Maryville and Mildred and husband Doug Bozek of Imlay City, MI; 11 step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Johnny Ray Stafford, 72, passed away Dec. 22 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd officiating. Interment followed at Hensley Cemetery.

Johnny Ray Stafford was born Nov. 21, 1940 in Jackson County. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herbie and Lillie Wheeler Stafford; sisters Jettie Garrison, Mary Smith, Lucille Wilson and Jamie Stafford Hammons and brother Vestel Stafford.

Surviving relatives include brother David Stafford; nephew Melvin Hammons and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Willard E. Carmack, 82, passed away Dec. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery.

Willard E. Carmack was born Nov. 24, 1930 in Jackson County. He was a farmer and a member of the New Hope Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alex Carmack and Dora Mae Carmack; wife Joyce Carmack; stepmother Oline Goolsby Carmack and sister Cloystine Carmack.

Surviving relatives include son Wayne and wife Sue Carmack of Lebanon; daughter Donna and husband Glen Smith of Hilham; grandchildren Shannon and husband Mark Hambridge of Livingston, Tiffany and husband Jeremy Mansell of Hilham, Jennifer and husband Johnny Warden of Lebanon, Candie and husband Morris Lankford of Lebanon and Joey Carmack of Lebanon; brother William and wife Pat Carmack of Lebanon and 10 great grandchildren.
