Jackson County Sheriff’s Dept. To Accept Cash Donation - 3/5/13

County Minutes Feb. 25

The Honorable Legislative Body of the Jackson County Commission met in Regular Session on Monday, the 25 day of February at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom of the Jackson County Courthouse. The Honorable Brad Stafford, Sheriff, opens court promptly at 7 p.m. The Honorable Randy Heady, Commissioner, offered the invocation. All in attendance led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Honorable Mary Jo Matthews, County Clerk, calls the roll. Seventeen Commissioners were present and one Commissioner was absent (Bruce Hawkins). A quorum is established and the meeting began.

Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: A motion was made by Commissioner Shane Keith and seconded by Commissioner Billy Myers. 17 Commissioners voted “Aye” and the motion carried.

Jackson County General Fund cash flow: information only.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Corps of Engineer Park Patrol Agreement for #17,988.16: A motion was made by Commissioner Diane Martin and seconded by Commissioner Shane Keith. 17 Commissioners voted “Aye” and the motion carried.

Discuss “Obamacare” Federal Health Care: information only.

Resolution Jackson County Legislative Body request the Tennessee General Assembly not change the Judicial District’s structure: A motion was made by Commissioner Jack Smith and seconded by Commissioner Diane Martin. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Resolution Jackson County Legislative Body request the Tennessee General Assembly not change the board structure of Development Districts and Human Resource Agencies: A motion was made by Commissioner Larry Fox and seconded by Commissioner Willard Mayberry. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Appoint Nora Anderson for the director and Krystal Bowman for the coordinator of Jackson County Three Star Program: A motion was made by Commissioner Scott Allen and seconded by commissioner Larry Fox. 17 Commissioners voted “aye” ant the motion carried.

Salary Supplement for Sheriff’s Department for 11 full time certified officers: A motion was made by Commissioner Diane Martin and seconded by Commissioner Scott Allen. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Sheriff Surplus Property to sell on Internet: A motion was made by Commissioner Barry Hammock and seconded by Commissioner Jonathan Goad. 16 Commissioners voted “aye” and one commissioner voted “pass” (Larry Fox) and the motion carried.

Resolution to accept cash donation of $10 for the Sheriff’s Department and put the donation in the Sheriff’s budget: A motion was made by Commissioner Billy Myers and seconded by Commissioner Shane Keith. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Central Fire Department asked for use of land behind Special Assistance Building to build a Fire/Training Hall and if fire department ceased operation, the land goes back to the County: A motion was made by Commissioner Willard Mayberry and seconded by Commissioner Diane Martin. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Notary applications for Sheila O’Regan, Crystal Bean, Freda Hammock and Jo Ann Bowman: A motion was made by Commissioner Joey Denson and seconded by Commissioner Randy Heady. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Motion not to give a donation to Cummins Falls State Park Project from Jackson County: A motion was made by Commissioner Billy Myers and seconded by Commissioner Buddy Brown. 17 commissioners voted “aye” and the motion carried.

Adjournment: Larry Fox, Commissioner, made the motion to adjourn until the next meeting and Willard Mayberry, Commissioner, seconded the motion. 17 Honorable Legislative Body Members voted “aye” and the meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
