Alderman Questions New Hire

A relatively routine agenda item to fill a position in the city water department turned into a bit of a debate last week, as Alderman Ronald Dishman questioned the need for the employee.

William Red Langford had been recommended for a job by Water Department director Jerry Dale Kennedy. Kennedy told the board that Langford would be taking over the job that Kennedy himself gave up to become the department’s director.
