FIRE Rash Of Fires Keeps Firefighters Busy

Almost every volunteer fire department in the county was called out Friday afternoon to assist in battling a wind-whipped brush fire that destroyed two barns and threatened several other structures.

The first call came to the Hardy’s Chapel VFD at 2:20 p.m. Friday about a barn that was on fire at 824 Moore Road. According to tax records, that property is owned by Bernard and Lula Fields.
